Evaluation of SBNRC in Cotton Production

Locations: Lake Carl Blackwell (LCB) Irrigated & Altus Research Station Est 2011

 

This trial is designed evalualte the use of the SBNRC in cotton production. Trial also gather yield data to improve upon existing algorythms.

Cotton Yield Prediction and SBNRC
Locations: Lake Carl Blackwell (LCB) Irrigated Est 06:
This trial is designed to build a yield prediction model for cotton using the GreenSeeker Sensor and to test N rate Algorythms being developed. Trial also will test current algorythms.

 

Cotton Catch-up Trial
Locations: Lake Carl Blackwell Irrigated: Altus Research Station
This trial is designed to record the ability of cotton to recover from N stress at multiple points during hte growing season. This trial is critical in the estiblishment of a SBNRC for cotton.

2009 Results

The LCB site was not responsive to N.
At Altus with 30 kg ha N preplant yield was not lost if fertilizer was applied by first white flower. It did not matter preplant level, N application at Early Pinhead Square and White flower resulted in Max yield(see the a by yields). N application made at 30 days after white flower resluted in a loss of yield regardless Preplant N rate.
